Dr. Matthew L. MillerBIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in Nebraska, Dr. Miller received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Nebraska where he was a Regent's Scholar. He attended the University Of Nebraska Medical Center also as a Regent's Scholar, and received his Doctor of Medicine Degree in 2004.

After a one-year surgical internship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Dr. Miller completed his seven-year neurosurgery residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin. There he pursued research in cell cycle and molecular mechanisms of prolactinomas, a type of pituitary tumor. He also received extensive training in epilepsy surgery and malignant brain tumor surgery utilizing functional mapping. As the first spine-fellowship program in the country, the Medical College of Wisconsin also trained Dr. Miller extensively in the surgical treatment of degenerative spinal disorders, primary and metastatic spinal tumors, and surgical stabilization of traumatic spinal injuries.

Dr. Miller's clinical interests include malignant and benign brain tumors, functional and deep-white matter mapping of the brain, epilepsy surgery, spinal tumors, and degenerative and traumatic conditions of the spine.

Dr. Miller's personal interests include fly-fishing, golf, skiing, building computers, piano, and guitar. He resides in Medford with his wife Natalya, a pediatrician, and his daughter.
